Did you know that an Italian space agency found a large liquid water lake on Mars this summer?  Also this summer, NASA’s rover Curiosity found organic compounds in Martian rocks and observed methane gas spikes in its atmosphere. Mars now has all the basic building blocks for life as we know it- liquid water and hydrocarbons. I think this should have been the number one headline all summer, but it got lost in all the “Earth News”. For those of you who missed it, I will recap this ground breaking news and discuss if this brings us closer to finding life on Mars.
