In 2017,  Ryan Locthe will have to forfeit $100,000 and a chance to swim at next year’s world championships as part of the penalty for his drunken scene at a gas station in Brazil during last month’s Olympics, along with teammates Gunnar Bentz, Jack Conger and Jimmy Feigen. “I reached the lowest point of my entire life that I never thought I would go to,” the 32-year-old Olympic medalist told the talk-show host.

The 12-time medalist also revealed that he’s talked to a superstar swimmer Michael Phelps for a few words of wisdom, given that the most decorated Olympian also has some past experience falling out of favor with fans.

Despite his embarrassment, Lochte has maintained a high profile, posting regularly on social media and accepting a spot on the upcoming season of “Dancing With The Stars.”Last month, Brazilian police charged Lochte with filing a false robbery report, but he is unlikely to return to Brazil to defend himself.
