The NBA is nearing the trade deadlines and teams are making big decisions quick. There was a trade this week involving the Dallas Mavericks and New York Knicks. The trade was Kristaps Porzingis, Tim Hardaway Jr., and Courtney Lee to the Dallas Mavericks and Dennis Smith Jr., Deandre Jordan, and Wesley Matthews to the New York Knicks. By doing this, the Knicks will have a lot of cap space because Deandre Jordan’s and Wesley Matthews contracts are expiring next year. The Dallas Mavericks get a young star to play with Luka Donic, another young star.

All star weekend is this weekend and the Mountain Dew Rising Stars have been announced. As usual the game will be the World players playing against the USA. Which means all the Rising Stars not from America is on the world team. On the world team, OG Anunoby, Deandre Ayton, Bogdan Bogdanović, Luka Dončić, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, Rodions Kurucs, Lauri Markkanen, Josh Okogie, Cedi Osman, and Ben Simmons. On the U.S team, Jarrett Allen, Marvin Bagley III, Lonzo Ball, John Collins, De’Aaron Fox, Jaren Jackson Jr., Kyle Kuzma, Donovan Mitchell, Jayson Tatum. With all these player this is probably going to be a very high scoring and entertaining game.

In other news, the NBA power rankings came out this week and Boston fans should be happy. This is because Boston moved up to the 5th spot. The order of the top ten teams in the power rankings is the Golden State Warriors, Milwaukee Bucks, Denver Nuggets, Toronto Raptors, Boston Celtics, Oklahoma City Thunder, Philadelphia 76ers, Portland Trailblazers, San Antonio Spurs, and the Houston Rockets. The big news is the Houston Rockets moved down all the way to 10th place.

The trade line soon means more and more trades. This week the Los Angeles Clippers traded Tobias Harris, Boban Marjanovic and Mike Scott to the 76ers. The Clippers received Landry Shamet, Mike Muscala, Wilson Chandler and future first and second round picks. This was a very good trade for the 76ers because Harris is a good edition for the playoffs in sight.
