LeBron James was born in Akron, Ohio 1984. His mother, Gloria James had LeBron when she was just 16 years old. When LeBron was in elementary school he was living with a foster family for a little time.  James’s mother, Gloria, had a boyfriend that acted as a father figure for LeBron. Gloria’s boyfriend, Eddie Jackson, served several years in prison for selling drugs and fraud. LeBron relied a lot on his mom and they kept a close relationship. LeBron says “My mother is everything. Always has been. Always will be.”

By the time James was in his junior year of high school he had already attracted fans out of the state of Ohio. In 2002, USA Today named LeBron’s high school basketball team, the St.Vincent-St.Mary, number one in the country for winning three Division III championships.  .

It was 2003 and the Cleveland Cavaliers were coming off of a season with the worst record in the NBA, were trying to rebuild their team, and had the number-one draft pick. Cleveland choose James to try to rebuild their team around a 18 year old. LeBron made his NBA debut in 2003 against the Sacramento Kings. James played much better than most rookies in their debut in the NBA. James had 25 points, 9 assists, 6 rebounds, and 4 steals. At the end of James’s rookie season he was in the top 15 players in the league in points per game, assists, steals, and total points. This was pretty impressive for a rookie.

For LeBron’s first four years being a Cav he was making $19 million just from basketball but also had endorsement deals that included a $90 million deal with Nike and promoting Sprite, Powerade, and Bubblicious bubblegum. Later on LeBron had endorsements in Kia Motor, Blaze Pizza, Intel and Beats By Dre. With Lebron James’s NBA earnings and endorsements earnings he has a total net worth of $440 million. With LeBron having a very large net worth he makes $35.65 million USD a year.With all the money LeBron makes he has a lot left over to donate to charity. The charity’s that LeBron has donated to includes After-School All Stars, Muhammad Ali: A Force For Change, Boys and Girls Club of America, Children’s defense club, ONEXONE, and The I Promise School.

LeBron was getting better and better each game he played and in his second year in the NBA he was elected to be on the Eastern Conference All-Star team. In his third year, he lead his team, the Cleveland Cavaliers, to the playoffs for the first time in 9 years. After already accomplishing a lot in his first few years in the NBA, LeBron led the Cavs to the franchises first finals. Even though the Cavs lost the finals series, LeBron was still seen and one of the best players in the league. James has been in the NBA All-Star game from 2005-2018. In 2006, 2008, and 2018 he was the MVP of the All-Star games. In 2011-12, 2012-13, and 2015-16 LeBron led his teams to the NBA championships. Also, LeBron was named season MVP in 2008-09, 2009-10, 2011-12, 2012-13. LeBron has accomplished many awards and honors in his NBA career and will still be earning more in the later years.
