Clayton Kershaw was born March 19, 1988. He is a left handed pitcher for the Los Angeles Dodgers.

Kershaw was drafted 7th overall in the 2006 mob draft. It only took Kershaw one season to get drafted to the majors from the minor leagues.

Kershaw and his wife do work as volunteers to raise money for an orphanage in Zambia by writing a book called “Arise” and launching a fundraiser called Kershaw’s challenge. Kershaw was born in Dallas Texas. When he was 10 his parents divorced where he was soon raised by only his mom.

Kershaw went to Highland Park High School where he was a pitcher for the baseball team and a center for the football team. During one of Kershaw’s high school baseball seasons he threw an all strike out perfect game in one of his playoff games.

Kershaw began his min0r league career as an Gulf Coast League Dodger. In his minor league career Kershaw struck out 54 batters and walked only 5 batters in the 37 inning he pitched.

In 2007 Kershaw was moved up to the 2A Great Lakes Loons. His win loss record was 7-5 win a 2.77 ERA.

In 2007 the Dodgers brought Kershaw up to the Majors from the minor league Great Lakes Loons staring his career with the Los Angeles Dodgers.

So far Kershaw has been a 7x All Star, an NL MVP, a 3x Nl Cy Young Award winner, a triple crown winner, a gold glove award winner, a 3x NL wins leader, a 5x NL ERA leader, a 3x NL strike out leader, a Roberto Clemente Award winner, a Marvin Miller man of the year award winner, he pitched a no hitter on June 18, 2014, and was a 4x Warren Spahn award winner.

In his career so far he has a win loss record of 145-68, a 2.37 earned run average, he has 2,173 strike outs, and a 1.00 whp average.

Kershaw may be known as one of the best pitchers ever considering he stats are so good, he has so many awards and is still very young but at the end of the 2017 season Kershaw struggled with a back injury putting him out for the end of the season and and the beginning of the 2018 season Kershaw struggled with a shoulder putting him out until the very beginning of June. In his first game back this season Kershaw has pains in his back again and he is currently on there day to day designated list.
