Everyone’s favorite game from the late 2000’s was Subway Surfers. The easiest game that had you swiping up, down, left, and right was so simple, but somehow, it was so fun and replayable.

You could play as Jake, Tricky, Fresh, Spike, Yutani, or many other interesting characters, my favorites being TagBot and Frank, and you could get an “outfit” to refresh the look of the character. You could also use a hoverboard, but I honestly never really used the function unless it was to reach a goal, but I still buy them.

However, in recent years, this game has become less popular. It’s become less and less popular, and I hadn’t played it for almost years until a few days ago. I was bored, and remembered this fantastic game from my childhood, and decided hey, let’s play it again, for old times sake. I downloaded it from the app store and started playing.

I’m not kidding when I say I had a great time. It was so fun to play, and I immediately had a blast to the past. The game was still easy and simple to play, and I could recall all the powers super easily, and I had such a great time. It was fun, entertaining, and I didn’t get bored after one or two games.

Still, the game is flawed. Some of the powerups seemed just plain stupid, just like they did in the old days. I hate the super jump boot feature because it just makes it difficult to avoid some obstacles and makes it difficult to obtain coins. I also don’t like the key feature, which I do remember is a bit old, but still seems stupid to me. If you’ve ever played Clash of Clans or other “free to play” games, you’ll understand what I mean. You can purchase keys to make your game experience more enjoyable or to live longer. I understand where the game developers were coming from, but I feel like making purchases to get a hoverboard or a character is a little stupid. (Keep in mind: You don’t have to purchase keys, but they are very few. However, their main use is for unlocking the outfits for your characters, so they are not by any means necessary. Despite these flaws, this game is addicting. It’s so easy to understand, and it’s a nice blast from the past.

Overall, if you’re looking for an easy game to play, I’d recommend Subway Surfers. It’s fun, simple, and anyone can play it!
