Valentine’s Day is about a week away, so I decided to do a Valentine’s Day article! These are 3 quick and easy DIY’s you can make for that special someone (okay that’s just weird, forget I said that), a family member, or heck even yourself! That’s probably what I’m going to do. Yep, that’s how sad my life is, or it also because I’m only 12 years old! Anyway, on to the DIY’s.

1. GLITTER HEART MASON JARS

This first DIY is really cute and I think whoever your giving it to will really like it! These are the supplies you need to make these jars!

  • Mason jars
  • Foam heart stickers
  • White or pink paint
  • Mod podge
  • White or pink glitter

The first step to making this awesome mason jar is trace the foam heart on a piece of tape and cut it out. After that you take the heart shaped piece of tape and stick it on the center of the mason jar. Paint the whole jar with whatever color you would like. Make sure that the tape is removable like duct tape or painters tape, so you can remove it after you paint the jar. Remove the piece of tape only when the jar has completely dried. The jar should be the color that you chose to paint it, with a transparent heart shape in the center. Now cover the whole jar with Mod Podge avoiding the heart because this is what will help the glitter stick. Add a generous amount of glitter right after you apply the Mod Podge. Wait for it to dry and then your done!

2. HEART THUMBPRINT PLATE

This next DIY is super easy and it’s a fun way to display your food! The supplies that you’ll need is,

  • A plain white platter (preferably about the same size as the one in the picture above)
  • Red glass paint
  • Black sharpie
  • A few thumbs (just kidding, ask people to help you out)

The first step is very simple. This is where the thumbs come in. Ask about 6 people (depending on the size of your plate), to stick their thumbs in some red glass paint and place one thumb on the plate. However to get that heart shape, you have to do this twice and tell them to place their thumbs a little curved on the plate. After you have 6 hearts on the plate, write the name of the person on top of the thumbprint with a sharpie. Just make sure to let it dry because I don’t think you want your food to taste like sharpie right? Anyway, this DIY is really cool and super easy to do so you should try it out!

3. CRAYON HEARTS

This is the final DIY and I actually do this DIY every year for Valentine’s Day, and it’s really fun and cool. These are the supplies you need.

  • Different colored crayons
  • Silicone heart shaped mold
  • oven!

The first step to making these crayon hearts is break different colored crayons and place them in the mold. Make sure to break the crayons so they are about the size of your thumb. To get a really cool marble affect, try to add some white and different shades of whatever your base color is. What I don’t suggest you do is add a bunch of different colors in, because that will result in an ugly brown color. After you have filled all your molds, place it in the oven for about 10 to 12 minutes. Set your oven to about 250 degrees. Once you take them out of the oven they will be very hot! Wait for them to dry and then pop them out of the mold. I recommend trying this DIY out because it’s so simple and turns out really pretty!

Those are all the DIY’s for Valentine’s Day! If you want to give someone a gift but you don’t know what to make, I suggest trying these out! They are really easy and most of the supplies are things that you can find at home. I hope you enjoyed this weeks article, see you soon!
