This is the continuation of Season 2 of the Serena Series.

I closed my eyes and entered the portal. Everything suddenly went white. I felt myself spinning in circles, and falling lower and lower. I felt a strong, forceful wind blowing against my face.

I felt like I was falling at the speed of light. There didn’t seem to be any end to it. After what felt like hours, I felt myself stop falling. I was…floating? I looked down and screamed. Below me, was a huge kingdom. More beautiful than any fairy tale.

Lush, green grass, which looked as if it were painted with the finest paint. Forests and jungles, which looked as if they were sparkling in the sunlight. And in the distance, I saw the silhouette of a big, grand palace. That was where I was born. I thought to myself. This is Azura. This is my….home.

My thoughts were interrupted when I felt myself falling again. I was falling rapidly down. I saw the ground becoming closer and closer. “Serena?” I heard my grandmother’s voice shouting far behind me. “Serena what are you doing? You are going the wrong way! Sere-” Just then, everything went black.

I opened my eyes, and quickly turned away when I felt the bright sun hit my face. “Mother?” I squeaked. No answer. “Grandmother?” Still no answer. “Anyone?” I waited for a few moments, but no one answered. “W-where am I?” I tried to sit up, but felt a searing pain in my back. “Oww.” I muttered, but forced myself to stand up. Limping, I examined the area.

Around me were tall trees and gorgeous plants and flowers of all sorts. I was in the middle of some kind of forest. And there was no one with me. I was lost in a kingdom I knew nothing about.

Not knowing where to start, I spent a few moments limping around the area. I felt fear building up inside of me. I suppose there is only one place to go. I thought. Forward. So with a strong, severe pain in my lower back, I started to walk forward.

All I saw ahead of me were tall trees one after another. I didn’t know where in the world I was going, but I knew that I had to find my mother, grandmother, and Emma. I had no idea what to do or where to go without them. Just then, I tripped on something.

It was my luggage. It must have fallen as well. Just great. I thought. Now I have to carry THIS with me. Groaning, I reluctantly grabbed my luggage and continued forward.

Every ten minutes or so, I would call for my mother, grandmother, or Emma to see if they were nearby. There was never a response.

All I could hear were the sounds of birds chirping in the trees, and the sound of water flowing. I could not even see the sky, because the tall trees were completely covering it. Before I knew it, darkness had fallen.

“Lovely.” I said aloud. “I am in a magical kingdom that I’m supposedly a PRINCESS in, searching for a lost sister I never met. And now I am lost in a huge forest all by myself, trying to find my way while carrying a enormous suitcase and with a horrible pain in my back in the dark. How more wonderful could my life get right now?”

As frustrated as I was, I knew complaining wouldn’t get me anywhere at all. But I also knew that I needed someplace to sleep that night. There has to be someone living somewhere here. I thought. There has to be! Suddenly, I remembered something.

When my grandmother was telling me about Azura that night at our house, she also mentioned that there were mystical pixies and sprites living in the forest. Maybe they can help me. I thought. I chuckled to myself. Never, in a million years would I have thought that I would be asking fairies for help in a magical kingdom. Life can definitely  surprise you.

I kept on trudging forward, searching desperately for some kind of home, or some kind of creature. I fished my cell phone out of my luggage to check the time. It was 12:54 am. My legs were exhausted, my back still ached terribly, and my arms were weak. I just could not continue on much longer. The forest seemed endless.

Panting, I sat down on a rock to take a break. I tried texting my mother, but as I suspected, no service. We were not even on Earth anymore.

After a few minutes of pure silence, I heard whispers. I could not figure out what they were saying, but I could hear people whispering in the distance. Just then, I heard a deep voice.

“Serena.” It said. “You must come with me. Now.”
