Since Christmas isn’t too far away, and it’s my favorite holiday ever, I decided make my very first Christmas article! I will be starting a series of Christmas articles so stay tuned for that. In today’s article, I will be sharing with you 5 DIY’s that you can do for Christmas. So let’s get started!

1. MASON JAR CHRISTMAS TREE

The first DIY we have here is the mason jar Christmas tree. This DIY is really creative and I think it will look really pretty on a desk or something like that. The things you are going to need for this DIY is,

  • A fake little Christmas tree (can be found at craft stores)
  • White glitter
  • Mason jar
  • Cardboard
  • Twine or ribbon

The first thing that you are going to do is take the silver metal part off of the mason jar. After you have done that, the next step is to spread a little bit of glue on the bottom of the Christmas tree. Put the tree on the bottom of the lid of the mason jar. It takes about an hour for the glue to dry. After the glue has completely dried, screw the lid of the jar back on. If you want to make your jar a little more sparkly, before you screw the cap back on, spread a bunch of glue on the inside of the jar. Then, pour in a lot of glitter so it’ll look like snow. If you want to make a tag because you are giving it to someone, tie a piece of twine around the lid, and then cut out a circle from a piece of cardboard. Make a hole in the cardboard with a hole puncher, and put the extra piece of twine through the hole. I think that this would make a really cute gift for someone, so you should definitely try it out!

2. PAPER GIFT PACKETS

This next DIY is very simple, but it is a good way to save money. If you don’t want to spend too much money on wrapping paper this year, then this DIY is perfect! These are the supplies that you need for this.

  • kraft paper
  • scissors
  • thread

The first thing you are going to do is pick a template for what design you want the wrapping paper to look like. For example, in the picture above, the two templates are a star and a stocking. Trace your design on a piece of kraft paper with a marker or sharpie. Make sure you trace it twice so there is a front side and a back side. After you have your 2 pieces of kraft paper, you have to use a needle and thread to sew them together. Leave a little space on the outside so it can have a trim. This is the most important step……do not forget to put the gift inside before you sew the 2 pieces of craft paper together! I hope you try out this DIY and save some money this year!

3. ADVENT CALENDAR

The very last DIY for this article is an advent calendar. You can buy advent calendars at stores but they are not the best quality for what they sell them for (especially the chocolate ones). Anyway, these are the supplies you’ll be needing to make an advent calendar!

  • Little paper envelopes
  • sharpie or any marker
  • random objects (money, toys, candy, etc.)
  • washy tape little stickers
  • frame

The first thing you are going to is glue 25 small envelopes to your frame. You can decorate the outside of the envelopes however you want with washy tape or stickers. The last step of this advent calendar is to fill up the little advent calendars. Obviously if you are making the calendar for yourself, you should ask someone else to fill up the envelopes for you. However, if you are making it for somebody, you can fill it out.

I hope you enjoyed my very first Christmas article, and check out some of these DIY’s! I love all of these and I think that they would make really cute Christmas gifts! Stay tuned for other Christmas articles!
