There have been many mysterious cases throughout the world. They leave people confused and questioning every detail of the situation. The strangeness of these cases might leave you terrified or maybe even interested. Here are some scary unsolved mysteries:

  1. Elisa Lam

Elisa Lam was a Canadian student at University Of British Columbia in Vancouver. In the beginning of  2013, she checked herself in to the Cecil Hotel in Downtown Los Angeles. She seemed like a regular customer checking into the hotel. Strangely, a month later, the water supply at the Cecil Hotel had many complaints that the water was foggy and seemed dirty. Around this time, Lam had been reported missing. After 5 days of Lam´s disappearance, the story has gained more interest. The police department released the elevator surveillance camera showing Lam a few days before she went missing. In the surveillance video it showed Lam hiding in the elevator even though nothing was there. It showed the elevator malfunctioning and not closing to go to a different floor. A few days later when police were searching through the hotel, Lam´s body was found in the water tank on the roof of the hotel. She was found naked with her clothes and belongings floating around her in the water. After four months with many delays, the autopsy showed that Lam had no signs of physical trauma or accidental death. The autopsy report made it sound as if someone had murdered her or some paranormal experience happened. Many horror films and conspiracies have been around this topic and still to this day no one knows who or what killed Elisa Lam.

2. Sodder Children

On Christmas Eve, December 24, 1945 a fire destroyed the Sodder home in Fayetteville, Virginia. Inside the house was George Sodder, his wife Jennie, and their nine children. Only George, Jennie, and four of the nine children survived this horrific fire. When the fire was extinguished, there were no remains of the five children and the parents believed that their children went missing. Earlier, when the parents had noticed the fire, they called the fire department that was only three miles away. The fire department took three hours to get to the Sodder home and when they arrived the fire had already been extinguished. Another strange factor to this situation was that a local neighbor of the Sodder Family said she had seen the five missing children in a cafe with two women and two men. A billboard with the faces of the missing children were created but no leads have been made about the case recently. To this day no one knows what happened to the five children of the Sodder Family.

These are some of the scariest and strangest unsolved mysteries. In both stories, the victims disappeared and have never been found. Hopefully someday in the future we will find what happened to the victims.
