The San Francisco 49ers are currently 1-10 and are in last place in the NFC West. Although the 49ers have had their struggles they do have a bright future. The 49ers have been playing very bad recently and are in much need for a complete rebuild. The signed Kyle Shanahan to be the offensive coordinator and Jon Lynch to be the general manager. Those two people are going to be the key pieces to really help the team rebuild. The 49ers have traded for Jimmy Garappolo who is a young player that has a very bright future. The 49ers have decided to not start Jimmy so he has a year to fully understand the plays. The 49ers need help on both offense and defense. If they add a couple of young players now in the offseason  they will have a vey promising future.

Draft

The 49ers will have 9 picks in total during this years draft.

Round 1 – Saquon Barkley, RB Penn State

Round 2- Denzel Ward, CB Ohio State

Round 2 [ Saints pick ] – Austin Bryant, DE Clemson

Round 3- Martinas Rankin, RT Ole Miss

Round 3 [ Bears pick ] -Harrison Phillips, DT Stanford

Round 4 [Steelers pick ] – Braden Smith, RG Auburn

Round 6- Trade to Bucs for 2019 5th round pick

Round 7- Quin Blanding, FS Virginia

Round 7 [ Chiefs pick ] – Ito Smith, RB Southern Mississippi

  1. Saquon Barkley-  Brakley will likely win the Heisman Trophy this year for many good reasons. He is the most balanced running back in this years draft. He is very fast and can also run very tough to get hard fought yards. Where Barkley really excels is in is agility,  and his athletic ability to make every run a big gain. He is good at jump cutting to the outside when the running lane is clogged up. He has the potential to score any play anywhere from the field. He will give the 49ers a very good running game and will make things much easier for the passing game, which will help the offense function better.
  2. Denzel Ware is a very good covering corner. He is fast which allows him to press at the line of scrimmage and then catch up to the receiver. He is very good at making a play on the ball down the field for an interception. He will be a very good corner for the 49ers and will help to strengthen their secondary. He is also young so can be the 49ers corner for the future.
  3. Austin Bryant is a very big and powerful defensive end. He is good at rushing the passer but is best at stopping the run in the backfield. The 49ers have very young talented young defensive lineman already, but he can mix in well with this group.
  4. Martinas Rankin is a good run and pass blocker. He played right tackle in college and played very well there all season. He is going to be able play right away for the 49ers an I think he can help the o-line out.
  5. Braden Smith is a a big and talented lineman. He is good at making a large lane to run to and keeping a pocket for the quarterback. I think that Braden can also start his rookie season and play well.
  6. Quin Blanding is a ball hawk safety, but can also tackle well. He well add some depth in the secondary and can also make plays on special teams.
  7. Ito Smith is a very good running back. He has good quickness and agility. He may fall in the draft due to lack of competition but he is still a great player. He will add more depth on offense and will have a good mix of running styles with him and Saquon Barkley.

Conclusion

On offense adding talent around the quarterback will help him out. Allen Robinson and Saquon Barkley are two young talented players that will be the next franchise players on offense. Also adding more help and depth on the offensive line gives more time for the QB to throw and more room for the running back to run. The Defense now has three good young pass rushers on the defensive line including DeForest Buckner, Solomon Thomas , and now Austin Bryant. The Linebackers for the most part stayed the same and will be lead by Rueben Foster who is showing a lot of promise in the 2017 season so far. The secondary is the most improved part of this team. Malcolm Butler has always been a very reliable corner for the Patriots and will likely continue to be. Denzel Ware is a promising young player that has the potential to be great.  Morgan Brunett to go along with Eric Reed makes a very good safety tandem. Even though this team is young and is made for the future, they have the talent on the roster to win now.
