Game Review

The game started off with a big 21 yard run from Jay Ajayi but the Ravens then forced them to punt. After this the Ravens only allowed 12 more rushing yards the entire game. If the Ravens could just stop the run that would tremendously help the chances for them to win. The Ravens then drove the ball down the field with a couple passes and big runs. Joe Flacco then thew a clutch pass to Jermey Maclin for a touchdown which was a huge confidence booster for the offense. The Ravens defense then quickly forced another punt and gave the offense great field position. The Ravens next two drives ended in field goals and they went up 13-0. The Ravens defense continued to get pressure on Matt Moore which caused bad plays to occur for the Dolphin’s offense. Joe Flacco and the offense then started to drive down the field , but then something happened that changed the game. Joe Flacco was rolling out to the right and was clearly sliding down but was hit with a cheap shop by Kiko Alonso. Kiko intentionally aimed at Joe’s head and hit him after he slid down. Many flags were thrown and a huge fight broke out. The NFL rule book says when a QB slides you should treat them like a down runner and not hit them. Players cheap shot when they are not good enough to beat you without cheating or they want to take out your good players. Kiki Alonso may not be a dirty player but that play was very dirty and he should be suspended. Ryan Mallet the backup QB, finished the drive off with a corner TD pass to Ben Watson. This let the ravens go up 20-0. The start of the second half was slow with failed drive after failed drive for both teams. The Dolphins finally got some momentum and were driving down the field and were faced with a crucial 3rd down at the Raven’s territory. Matt Moore attempted a screen pass but was intercepted by CJ Mosley which was returned for a touchdown. CJ Mosley is a very underrated player and he continues to show why he is a top linebacker in the league. The next possession for the Ravens was dominated by running the ball. Alex Collins and Buck Allen both ran the ball very well. They were burning the clock and also slowly driving down the field. The Ravens finally scored with Buck Allen fumbling the ball but it was recovered by Chris Moore. This drive was very important because the Raven’s coaching staff wants to be able to run the ball effectively and consistently. The Ravens then went up 33-0. The very next possession for the Dolphins was quickly ended by a pick 6 by Jimmy Smith. The Ravens all game long got pressure on Matt Moore which cause rushed passes which led to turnovers. The final score of the game was 40-0 and the Ravens moved to (4-4) and the Dolphins moved to (4-3).
