The end for the Napoleon Empire was here. The fifth coalition ended in victory for the British, and Napoleon was sent to Elba for exile. However, after 100 hundred days, he escaped back to France and managed to convince the French army to be on his side. So Napoleon was back in control. But the rest of Europe weren’t too “pleased” with the news. They created a sixth coalition to end the Napoleon Regime and were successful with the fight against Napoleon’s France.

Napoleon was exiled again to an island between South America & Africa. This was the last time where Napoleon has any significant power anywhere in the world. The great powers of Europe didn’t want another country that came extremely close to rule all of Europe. They met at the congress of Vienna. So they tried stabilizing Europe, by creating a coalition against a country that was out of control & powerful. The holy roman empire dissolved under Napoleon regime, but it was decided that it was now dissolved forever. This move to the collapse of the empire made another country to make the move to take territories. This country was Prussia, even though in 1815. The German confederation was formed.

This confederation was to replace the holy roman empire. Then Otto Bismark, the Prussian chancellor wanted to annex the northern part of the German confederation. However, the declining Austrian empire didn’t want this. So in 1866, they fought a war against Prussia. The Austrian empire soon lost & was replaced by a new one, Austria Hungary. In 1870, France felt threaten against Prussia. But a part of the Prussian influence greatly alarmed France, the Spanish throne. To them, the Prussian favored candidate for the candidate to the Spanish throne. That he team up with Prussia against the French. So they sent a letter to the Prussian king, to pull their candidate out of the take for the Spanish throne. William the first, the Prussian king. Refused, this angered the French government. The emperor of France, Napoleon the Third (nephew of the first Napoleon) trusted his adviser to declare war on Prussia. He soon declared war on Prussia, with his french equipped, the invention of a early machine gun. They were sure that France will win this war quickly. But German mobilization proved them wronged. The Germans quickly managed to surround Paris. Creating the Siege of Paris in 1870, after never ending captures of the city. France surrender in 1871. This created the collapse the second French empire & united all German territories. Prussia was now part of a new country, Germany.
