Dreck marched towards the second-class districts from the slums. Her hands trembled in fear, their motion ecstatic and crazy. If you looked closely, you could see the jagged shape weighing down the cloth around her pocket. She walked in a straight and uniform manner, almost as if she was being bossed around by soldiers. Peasants sat on the ground around her, periodically looking up at her with their dreary faces. “What do I do with this accursed rock?!” is what she must have been thinking.

As she got to the more civilized and clean areas of the city, Dreck noticed the banners and streamers that were hung all over the many city districts. Some people were dancing and playing music. To them this day almost seemed like the beginning of a long, fun festival. But to Dreck, the day seemed more like a stressful day, one filled with grimace and fear. Juge had claimed that she needed to kill the king with the stone, and then run away, towards their own home. There, they’d break for the nearest port, and sail for Strand on the Southern Continent. But the plan seemed… strange. First of all, she didn’t feel comfortable about just abandoning Seil. Second, she didn’t think she’d just be able to wander into the palace with an illegal spell, let alone use it to murder the king. But, as Dreck wandered through the streets, lost in thought, a strange man bumped into her. He was large, and resembled a military general in a way. Dreck, confused, turned around to apologize, but the man was gone.

Dreck continued to walk through the crowded streets, until she reached a grand staircase that led up to the higher districts. She climbed up it, and wandered past the nobles and richly decorated houses, until she climbed up the final staircase, and reached the main palace gate. As she walked within pushing distance of the grandiose, metal gate, two men dressed in burgundy coats and black pants appeared from the sides, and pushed the gates open. Dreck marched through, and encountered the grand garden, with rich grass growing everywhere. Ponds dotted the place, and flowers sat everywhere.

Dreck continued walking. The garden was quiet, and its eerie atmosphere began to reveal itself. There was no sound. There wasn’t even any wind. The royal palace sat ominously at the end, its ridiculous size beginning to come into fruition. Dreck needed to decide now what to do with the stone. She could easily tell that she wouldn’t be able to easily pull it out in this place. Maybe she should just abandon the stone, and blame everything on Juge. She was scared. But then, suddenly, she looked down. She stared down at her pocket, only to realize that the stone was gone. Dreck grew pale. Where had the stone gone? She thought back to when she was walking. What had happened?

A sharp pain stabbed Dreck in the stomach. “The man,” she thought ominously to herself. Then, her head jerked upwards as she heard a sharp scream coming from the palace. The grand palace that had stood there before, had been replaced by a tower of destruction and horror.
