The Golden State Warriors and Cleveland Cavaliers have started their 7 game series in the NBA finals. This is the 3rd straight year where the Warriors and Cavs have faced each other in the NBA finals. In 2015 the Warriors beat the Cavs in a 6 game series and in 2016 the Cavs came back from a 3-1 deficit and defeat the Warriors in 7. The Warriors starting lineup was Stephen Curry (pg), Klay Thompson (sg), Kevin Durant (sf), Draymond Green (pf), and lastly Zaza Pachulia at the center position. The Cavs Starting 5 was Kyrie Irving (pg), J.R Smith (sg), Lebron James (sf), Kevin Love (pf), and finally Tristan Thompson at Center

The NBA Finals has finally come to a start. Game one was on thursday June 1st 2017 at 6:00pm. The game started with Warriors winning the tip off, they go on to missing their first shot as well as the Cavs did. The first basket of the NBA finals was a corner 3 by J.R Smith of the Cleveland Cavaliers. At halftime the Warriors had an 8 point lead with the score being 52-60. Kyrie Irving and Lebron James scored 36 of the Cavaliers 52 points in the first half.

In the 3rd quarter the warriors gained a 21 point lead. Kevin Durant and Stephen Curry combined for 46 points at the 3rd quarter. In the fourth quarter the Cavs managed to get the lead only to 12 points but sadly ended up in defeat in the end. The Warriors defeated the Cleveland Cavaliers in game one of the NBA finals. The top scorers of the game were Lebron James with 28 points, 15 rebounds, and 8 assists. Lebron James contributed very well on the offensive side for the Cavaliers but he ended up having 8 turnovers. Kevin Durant was the top scorer for the Warriors with a whopping 38 points, 8 rebounds, and 8 assists.
