Dreck lay defeated in a corner. She looked like she was about to faint. Juge had been gone for almost five hours. Dreck was still mad at her, but sobbing alone in the corner made her feel lonely. Suddenly there was a loud knocking on the door, and Dreck shrieked in surprise. She moaned in an unpleasant voice, before getting up slowly, letting her ragged blanket hang over her shoulders. She opened the door slowly, and began to speak, “Juge, where have you be-.” She jumped back in surprise, and her blanket fell off anticlimactically. “Y-you?!” Standing in the doorway was a young girl in a scarlet red dress. Her blond hair drooped at her sides, and her light blue eyes glittered. Her face had a pouting expression, as if she didn’t want to be there. “Yes, it is indeed me,” replied Rein Auch.

She walked in without asking, and looked around confusingly. “Where are the chairs?” she asked casually. Dreck, who was too surprised to speak, simply pointed at a small, uncomfortable looking chair made of unrefined wood. It looked like simply grazing it would give you a splinter. “Th-that’s a chair?!” she asked this in a way that made it seem like she was scared. “I thought it was firewood! Where’s the fireplace anyway?” “W-we d-don’t have one,” said Dreck shakily. With this, Rein just stared at Dreck uncomfortably. She slowly lowered herself into the chair, seemingly terrified. Suddenly, Dreck regained her composure, “Wait! Why are you here anyway!?” Rein, who seemed partially miffed with this question, replied slowly, “Ah, yes, indeed. So, you see, well-” “Just answer the question,” said Dreck, who was now even more miffed than Rein.

“Well, I need to warn you about something, and ask for your help. Are you aware of the traditions of Seil?” asked Rein. “I live here. Of course I am!” Dreck replied angrily. “Well, anyway. So you are aware that if you become queen, you will never see your family ever again?” Rein was trying to speak politely. “I don’t care about that wench of a sister,” Dreck said casually. Rein shrieked in surprise. “Y-you’d say that?!” she yelled, shaken with surprise. “Of course,” Dreck said casually. “A-anyway, you are also aware that you will completely disappear from society after four years of royalty?” questioned Rein. “Wait..what? You mean being sent away to live a peaceful life?” said Dreck. “Well, it sounds nicer when you put it like that, but still..” Rein trailed off.

Suddenly, a loud banging came from the door. “Let me in, you dolts! I live here!” it seemed to be the voice of a young girl. “You’ll interrupt the mistress!” said the voice of someone older. Banging sounds kept coming. “What mistress?!” shouted the young girl. There was one final bang before Rein shouted, “Let her in!” The voices outside quieted down quickly, and the door creaked as it was slowly pushed open, revealing Juge in the doorway. “Is this the wench you were referring to?” asked Rein.
